Le Droit - Industry 4.0, the unavoidable digital revolution

Pierre Gabriel Cote, President and CEO, Investissement Quebec signed a letter in the newspaper Le Droit.

Automation is reshaping how we do things. The shortage of skilled and specialized workers in cutting-edge technology fields is being felt and is a major barrier to investment. Our future economic growth depends on our ability to adapt and rethink our processes to quickly integrate forward-looking solutions like robotics and interconnectivity. That's why Investissement Quebec stands with manufacturing entrepreneurs across every region of Quebec and supports them so they can thrive through this digital revolution.

From 2016 to 2018, Investissement Quebec invested one billion dollars in financing in partnership with the Quebec government to support manufacturing companies that created investment projects worth a total of 3.9 billion dollars.

For more details on the innovative manufacturers initiative, see the various sections of the Investissement Quebec site:

  • Loan of $250,000 or less to finance the rollout of innovative projects.
  • Financing covering up to 100% of your project costs.
  • Venture capital to back innovative, forward-looking projects.
  • Equity financing from $2M to $100M.

In real life an OEE score of 100% is obviously impossible, but carefully measuring a current process against its ideal form is a necessary to understanding where improvements can be made.
