Operating Cost Reduction at a Quebec Metal Industry Leader

Since adopting Worximity's technologies, Prolifik has reduced changeover times, increased uptime, and identified and corrected the main causes of its variances to build a higher-performing smart factory.

Founded in 1996, Prolifik is a Quebec-based SMB specializing in the manufacturing of ventilation ducts, serving the residential, commercial, and industrial markets. Thanks to the dedication of its staff and distributors, Prolifik has stood out by adapting its products to market needs.

Prolifik already had production data, but not necessarily in real time. Leadership wanted a better understanding of changeover times in order to optimize equipment uptime. They also knew their production lines were experiencing downtime and wanted to clearly identify the main causes so they could find concrete solutions. Given the company's "just-in-time" production model, Jean-Rock, TileBoard internal champion, strongly believed in the technology's potential to better manage customer demand in real time.

"It's fun for employees because they have the same information as the supervisors. It gets people more involved in the production process by encouraging them to flag mechanical issues, material supply problems, or anything else." Jean-Rock Lacroix, President, Prolifik

Within a few months, Prolifik improved its uptime by more than 34%, while reducing operating costs to reinvest in R&D. Real-time monitoring also improved their cost of goods sold, helping them capture more market share.
